Let me tell a few words about my book
Russian Fashion Now, which was published in Moscow in December 2006. The work of thirty four successful fashion designers ranging from couture to ready-to-wear and from the famous to new-comers has been displayed in the book, which also presents a brief overview of the country's fashion industry from the beginning of the Twentieth Century to the present.
You'll find not just the designers' short biographies in the book; it is also a cultural exploration of contemporary Russia through the prism of fashion. I tried to answer the question: "What is going on in Russia, and how fashion reflects that?" The book introduces designers as personalities, and breaks the common belief that Russia is a country where clothes still imply only practical meaning.
